AIPL™ announces Dr. Xu Zeng, MD, PhD and Dr. Xiaotong “Tony” Wang, MD, MS as Associate Medical Directors
Richmond, Va.– August 1, 2012 – AIPL, a specialty anatomic pathology laboratory, is pleased to announce the appointment of Xiaotong “Tony” Wang, M.D., M.S. and Xu Zeng, M.D., PhD. as Associate Medical Directors. Dr. Wang and Dr. Zeng’s appointments strengthen AIPL’s commitment to providing optimal patient care with its veteran team of pathologists.
Dr. Wang received his Doctor of Medicine from China Medical University and his Master of Science in Oncology from Shanghai Medical University. In 2006, he completed his residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Washington Hospital Center in Washington D.C. Dr. Wang completed his fellowship in Oncologic Pathology from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, New York and his fellowship in Renal Pathology from the University of Washington in Seattle Washington. Dr. Wang has served as Chief of Renal Pathology Services and was an attending pathologist in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at North Shore – LIJ Health System. Dr. Wang has actively taught renal pathology for pathology residency, nephrology and rheumatology fellowships. In addition, he has participated in many renal pathology research projects and has multiple publications in the field. Dr. Wang is a member of the Renal Pathology Society and the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology.
Dr. Zeng graduated from Medical College of Ohio with a Ph.D. in Medical Sciences and Pharmacology where he also earned the Graduate Dean’s award in Medical Science. Dr. Zeng completed his Surgery residency at The Second Guangzhou Medical College Hospital and his Anatomic and Clinical Pathology residency at North Shore Uni-Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New York. He has served as Director of Nephropathology and Assistant Professor in the Department of Pathology at Wayne State University School of Medicine. Dr. Zeng has been involved in multiple research projects supported by The National Institutes of Health and has over forty publications consisting of observations, case reports, and abstracts. Notably, he has authored four abstracts that have been accepted by the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology 2012. Dr. Zeng is a member of multiple professional societies, including the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, Michigan Society of Pathologists, and the National Kidney Foundation.
