Dr. Kahane is a nationally-recognized uropathologist, with over 20 years of experience in the field. He received his M.D. from the Ross University School of Medicine and trained in anatomic and clinical pathology at the Institute of Pathology at Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he also completed his residency program, serving as chief resident and chief of experimental pathology.

Dr. Kahane’s experience includes 14 years as the executive medical director of uropathology at LabCorp Systems/DIANON, where he built one of the nation’s largest national prostate biopsy laboratories. He also served as attending pathologist at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, New York and as the chief coordinator of quality assurance in anatomic and surgical pathology for the Institute of Pathology at Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dr. Kahane also spent time as an assistant professor of pathology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, New York.

Dr. Kahane’s professional affiliations are numerous and include election as a fellow of the International Society of Urological Pathologists, the American College of Physician Executives, the College of American Pathologists and the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. He is also a member of the American Urological Association, is certified by the American Board of Pathology, and is the author of numerous publications in the field of uropathology.
